VES1724-56B2

24-port Temperature-Hardened VDSL2 Box DSLAM
VES1724-56B2 | Fanless design that enables passive cooling to sustain temperature-hardened requirement, ADSL2+ fallback & bonding

VES1724-56B2 is a 24-port VDSL2 temperature hardened remote DSLAM with universal AC and/or DC power input for FTTC and FTTB markets. The device is suitable for wall mount installation, which greatly reduces the installation cost for service providers.

VES1724-56B2 is a 24-port VDSL2 aggregator based on Discrete Multi Tone (DMT) modulation and the latest Ethernet technologies. It aggregates traffic from DMT-based VDSL CPE. It also provides PSD shaping features to avoid interference with other DSL flavors.

VES1724-56B2 multiplexes data traffic into 2 Combo GE network ports (2 100 /1000 Base-T RJ-45 ports as well as 2 SPF ports) that connect to any third-party Ethernet switch, WAN router or VDSL Switch cascade. The built-in universal splitter splits and sends voice traffic to the POTS network.

VES1724-56B2 supports VDSL2 downstream and upstream speeds up to 100 Mbps, respectively.

Key benefit:
  • Complies with VDSL2 standards including ITU-T G.993.2 and G.994.1

VES1724-56B2 forms to G.993.2, G994.1 and G.997.1 to ensure the interoperability with standard-compliant VDSL CPE. It supports 30a profile, G.inp, and bonding as well so the performance of VDSL2 was optimized for data transmission upstream and downstream and helping service providers to broaden the service range for new subscribers and higher data rate to existing customers for new revenue.

  • 1U 24-port temperature-hardened DSLAM with 30a profile

The VES1724-56B2 supports 30a profile with 100Mbps in both upstream and downstream traffics. With two Gigabit combo ports to connect aggregation networks, the VES1724-56B2 can support low-concentration interconnection from the subscriber ports to the network interface ports, and its temperature-hardened design allows close deployment to the subscribers.

  •  Triple Play ready

The VES1724-56B2 supports IGMP snooping to prevent unnecessary forwarding of multicast traffic to all subscribers and thus optimizes bandwidth utilization for multicast applications such as broadcast video. The VES1724-56B2 also supports the multicast VLAN feature that distributes the source to all the VLANs requesting the video stream. With a built-in splitter over POTS, the VES1724-56B2 allows the operators to provide Triple Play services over the same copper wire.

  •  Complete QoS for service differentiation

The VES1724-56B2 supports not only 802.1X port-based access control for subscriber authentication, but also defines a limited number of MAC addresses that can access the network from a particular port. With rate limiting on the subscriber ports allowing services to take advantage of 64Kbps increments, service providers will be in a better position to offer tiered services.

  •  Fan-less design for energy-saving and optimized maintenance
With fan-less design mechanism VES1724-56B2 plays not just a flexible role bridging FTTx and DSL but also a pioneer for Green. This innovation helps service providers to save the cost of maintenance and avoid the possible issues caused by the heat. It also helps to extend the endurance and reliability.
